North Glenmore Park

I went for a walk the other night in North Glenmore Park and ventured off the pathway that runs along the reservoir and into the fields across the roadway. The night was perfect – warm, calm and the sun wasn’t too high in the sky. The air was muggy and the mosquitoes were out in force!  The variety of insects in the air and on the plants was unbelievable! During the whole walk there was a constant buzzing. After enjoying the small fields for a bit, I went down to the ponds and was able to capture some birds on the water after sitting patiently for 20 minutes. I think the baby and the red eyed bird are some kind of plover or sandpiper – I’ve never seen those markings before. They would come fairly close after I was sitting there for awhile. The ducks were different story and kept their distance sunning themselves on the rocks.
